A Victory for Marriage Equality?

with 2 comments

So, a bill was introduced into the House that would repeal the Defense of Aarriage Act should it pass. I certainly hope it does. The only thing I foresee being a problem with the passing of this bill is the Republican agenda.

What do you think? Leave a comment below telling me what you think about this bill.

Top 6 Reasons the Democratic Party is Bad for America

with 4 comments

As a follow-up to yesterday’s anti-Republican post, I thought I’d give my thoughts for why I think the Democratic Party is also bad for America.

  1. Communism is a great idea on paper, but fails in practice.
  2. Logic, rather than emotion, should rule decisions.
  3. The party claims to be liberal, but–in my opinion–is too conservative.
  4. It is okay to support equal rights for everyone, but I don’t think it’s okay to include violent criminals in those rights.
  5. Barack Obama. ‘Nuff said.
  6. I believe certain drugs (marijuana, for example) should be legalized, but not ALL drugs. Especially not man-made designer drugs.

That’s all I have for today. Thanks for reading.

As always, your comments and suggestions are welcome.

With Liberty and Justice for the Heterosexual

with 4 comments

What do straight people and gay people have in common? Pretty much everything–except for the United States government is legally forbidden to recognize same-sex marriage. The Defense of Marriage Act (signed into law by President Clinton) defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman for the purpose of interpretation of federal laws about married couples. This law makes it illegal for the federal government to recognize same-sex couples and therefore, such couples (even in states that allow same-sex marriage) are forbidden over 1000 rights granted to married couples by the federal government.

If you agree that this discrimination needs to stop, I urge you to contact your Senators and Representatives.
